Ritta Husted Smiling Working With A Client

My Services

  • As an Accredited Psychological Coach, using the evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Coaching approach, I work with you on gaining the clarity and courage needed to take bold and brave decisions.

I work with you through a collaborative and flexible coaching approach supporting you in defining and achieving your personal and / or professional goals and objectives. I provide an encouraging and creative thinking space and act as a sounding board for your ideas.

I will always follow your agenda and assume you know what is best for you whilst I expertly guide you through the process and help you gain the clarity and confidence needed to act.

What might we work on in a coaching programme?

    • Personal & professional development

    • Leadership development

    • Managing transition & change

    • Identity and imposter syndrome

    • Perfectionistic tendencies

    • Coaching for skills &/or performance (e.g. confidence, assertiveness, time management, organisation)

    • Procrastination and motivation

Whilst the benefits of coaching are many, clients report that they feel more motivated and enabled to achieve their goals as they start to see real results and they have an increased sense of agency, control and wellbeing. For a coaching programme to be successful, you bring your personal commitment and belief that change is possible.

A typical coaching programme consists of five, 90-minute sessions spread across six months with 3 to 5 weeks between each session – this can vary depending on your specific needs. Coaching is delivered in-person and / or on Zoom.

  • I support organisations in bringing to life their staff and student development programmes through group coaching and facilitation workshops. Each themed 3-hour workshop brings together groups of up to 20 participants from different parts of the organisation who are all experiencing similar blocks to ‘getting things done’, e.g. ‘lack of self-motivation’ or ‘procrastination’. Using Positive Psychology models and frameworks I enable the participants to utilise coaching techniques to question and reframe their thinking to more enabling ones.

A typical session begins with a check-in opportunity to allow participants to land in the room and clear their heads so they can do their best thinking. Participants will very quickly be engaged with the first practical activity which they will keep building on to develop a plan of action.

The session will also be interlaced with a bit of research and science to allow participants to understand their behaviour and thereby start challenging it. After a short break half-way through, participants will be enabled to gently coach each other through a set of questions and techniques and to form a plan of action. For those who are interested, I will help set up ‘accountability partnerships’; other take-aways include supportive materials and a set of resources.

What might we work on in group coaching?

    • A coaching approach to staff / student support

    • Self-doubt, self-acceptance, and imposter syndrome

These very popular group sessions are perfect for those who just need a one-off coaching session on a particular theme. Participants, whether they are professionals or research students, tell me they benefit from the shared experience of others and walk away with a greater understanding of who they are and why they are behaving in a certain way as well as an actual plan of action and commitment to make change happen.

Contact me to talk through your specific needs for a tailored group session which can be delivered in-person or on Zoom.

  • Being part of a team where all members treat each other as equals, encourage their best thinking, and pay close attention to the mood in the room, can make amazing things happen. I work with teams who want to increase their performance, work more inclusively, and bring psychological safety to the team. Using a unique blended approach of Emotional Intelligence and Cognitive Behavioural Coaching, I offer teams and their leadership opportunities to discover how they can work more effectively together, whilst increasing motivation and happiness at work.

A team coaching programme will include two, half-days and / or full days facilitation working with the whole team on their specific goals and objectives. It also includes five, 1-2-1 supportive coaching sessions with the team lead as well as preparatory assignments. The whole programme is typically delivered over a 3 to 4-month period allowing the changes to start to embed whilst still receiving coaching support.

To ensure the team coaching is relevant, impactful and deliver long-lasting results, we will identify the blockers to excellent team working and experiment with new ways of working through a supportive and safe process.

Clients describe the benefits of team coaching as feeling a greater sense of belonging to the team, being empowered and enabled to meet shared goals, and feeling more motivated. For a team coaching programme to be successful, everybody will need to bring their personal commitment and belief that change is possible.

At the end of the team coaching programme, the team will have developed a set of working practices agreed on and underpinned by shared values and will take away a toolkit to help ensure long-lasting results. The programme can be delivered in-person or on Zoom.

  • As a postgraduate research student there are many conflicting demands on your time which can impact negatively on your research output. Perhaps there are times when you are feeling overwhelmed and ineffective? That was certainly true for me.

I use Positive Psychology and Emotional Intelligence to help you develop a deeper understanding of where your obstacles are, increase your academic performance and feel empowered to take control of your work.

  • As your career sits alongside your life, I invite you to take a holistic approach to career coaching and to examining all relevant aspects enabling you to get the clarity you need to take some action. During the coaching programme I will support you in undertaking some experimental in-between session assignments to help you gain a better understanding of who you really are and what you really want. You will also develop a set of tools to help you self-manage your career longer-term.

Clients can benefit from career coaching when they are at a crossroad in their career. Perhaps feeling they are no longer getting the stretch they need to keep motivated? Perhaps they are looking to pivot their career to align better with their core values? I also offer group career coaching workshops as mentioned under ‘working with your groups’.
