Ritta Husted Smiling

I provide a calm and supportive space for female leaders and managers in Higher Education where they can think deeply and clearly about what matters most to them and find the confidence and courage to make bold and ambitious changes.

Changing how we do things can feel uncomfortable and sometimes we might just need some time to think through what our options are and how they land with us.

The highly collaborative and supportive coaching journey is centred around what success means for you and it will equip you with a tool kit you can take away from coaching and continue learning long after our programme has finished.

I received support for a career/development journey and Ritta had suggestions of things to try, particularly when I couldn’t see a way through – I was just in a cloud of confusion.  Ritta was one of the best coaches I have worked with – she brought an extra dimension to the coaching, which is apparent from her training, which was also quite inspiring.

Who am I?

Having held several leadership roles within Higher Education over the past 15 years I can relate to the competing pressures on time women face in academia. I love working with people and my values of equality, diversity and inclusivity underpin my approach to leadership as well as coaching.

I am quite goal oriented and am known for ‘getting things done’ and enabling others to perform at their very best. I am naturally optimistic and hopeful and bring a touch of humour to my practices.

During the Roman Period, which stretched from AD43-400, the UK enjoyed an introduction of a range of what was then deemed exotic foods, including the onion. But what has the humble onion got to do with coaching?

  • OPTIMISM + HOPE = SELF-EFFICACY

Knowing that we are equipped to act is crucial to the success of any performance coaching programme, yet clients often feel that they have no agency over things which are hugely important to them. Proponents of Emotional Intelligence tells us that

  • RESILIENCE - THRIVING OR SURVIVING

I have been described, on more than one occasion, that I am resilient. And I can see why this conclusion has been drawn. Being able to pull through and keep going even when life throws some challenges your way, possibly warrants the ‘resilience badge’.
