Ritta Husted writing next to books

About Me.

I am a senior academic, linguist, coach, mother and keen traveller.

Having held several leadership roles within Higher Education over the past 15 years I can relate to the competing pressures on time women face in academia. I love working with people and my values of equality, diversity and inclusivity underpin my approach to leadership as well as coaching. I am quite goal oriented and am known for ‘getting things done’ and enabling others to perform at their very best. I am naturally optimistic and hopeful and bring a touch of humour to my practices.

I am an in-house coach at the University of Essex and support academics as well as professional services colleagues on a wide range of coaching themes. I also develop and deliver interactive staff workshops and contribute to Departmental Away-Days.

My qualifications and credentials include:

An Accredited Advanced Diploma in Coaching
PhD in Second Language Acquisition
Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
Excellence in Teaching Award
Excellence Award in Inclusive Teaching

I am a member of the Association for Coaching and The Institute of Leadership and Management (TILM).

I coach in English and Danish.

What I found particularly helpful about the coaching was the non-judgmental support and skill of the coach. Ritta was always happy, smiling, friendly and had suggestions of things to try, particularly when I couldn’t see a way through – I was just in a cloud of confusion.  She really made a difference.
